    It's a good point. That's exactly what they did.

    Slow start as we have a brand new squad, lots more 20 minute interviews with Radio Sheffield & then midtable.

    A boring style of play with focus firmly being on keeping clean sheets and getting a result. If we keep COG it might be successful. Grinding out a lot of 1-0 results. Maybe enough to get us a top 6 finish. If we lose COG and fail to recruit a 20 goal striker, I think we'll struggle around mid table.

    Completely depends on:

    Whether we keep Chris O'Grady;
    To a lesser extent, Jennings;
    Wilson's signings (miracle required as I expect his budget to be very poor)
    How well the young lads do, in particular Digby.

    If we keep O'Grady then we have a good chance of the play offs. If we don't, mid table obscurity and potential relegation scrap I'm afraid.

    That seems to cover all bases.....

    Last time we went down, it took us 4 seasons to get back. However, we were in administration back then and unable to sign players for quite a while. We have a healthier club finance wise at the moment, but I can't see us taking the league by storm next season somehow. It was a season of stability, mid table, depends on whether we keep our better contracted players i.e. Steele, Crainie, Jennings & COG. Also how we replace them if they do leave.

    As for DW, it all depends on the start to teh season. A bad start and will the board stick with him - difficult to tell, but I hope he stays and has a good crack at it the season after.

    Anywhere between 13th and the relegation zone by October/November. Calls for Danny's head after annihilating Colchester at home in the first weekend of November. We have 24 shots, they have two, and we lose 2-1.

    Mansford gives Danny the old vote of confidence, but the rumour is he'll be sacked if we lose the next match (at Doncaster).

    We score early, never look like losing, and wrap it up on the counter-attack near the end.

    That precedes a slow climb up the table, which tails off near the end of the season, and we finish between 9th and 11th.

    Thing is people keep saying, he'll need time to get the squad to gel so maybe after this season we'll be up there but with having to get so manny players this summer it'll be hard, but next summer will be same as this one because who ever we sign this summer will do what most our signings do and only pen a year deal due to the money we pay so this time next summer we'll be in same boat

    Mid table - flirting with the playoffs may even sneak in for a week or so but ultimately finishing around 10th -12th

    If we do make the playoffs we might as well not bother going - as Jay explains above

    we have to aim to go up this season no f ucking about, if we tried building for other seasons we would only have our better players took off us who ever they may be, and would be back to sqaure one every season and would get shitter and shitter. we need ambition and not wait to see if we can build a half decent team in 10 years,i personally cant be arsed to wait that long and spend me money watching league 1 football it ****, go for promotion now its not beyond us it can be done.

    Lightening start and fade away around Christmas then just sneak in the playoffs towards the end of the season. Bit like Peterborough this year. Lose in the semis and then go up as champions the year after.
