All systems are there to be abused and there are some who unfortunately know all the loop holes - picking up their sick disabled mum every now and again -someone at home got one for this - bloke across the road was registered disabled and couldn't work beacause he had poor balance - didn't stop him climbing on to his roof to fix the tiles at home . It's one or two who give genuine people with diasbilities a bad name

I am able bodied and have disabled badges

They are used when transporting my daughter, but not on any other occasions. If anyone wants to query the issue with me at the time, then by all means do so.
I would gladly swap the badges for a healthy daughter

Unfortunately not everyone is as honest as you so the use of the badges do get abused by some and also the application to get one

 

Similar to yours

But with parent and toddler parking spaces where people park and clearly have no snappers in tow. Leaving you to fight ignorant other drivers who can't park properly in normal spaces where you can't then sort your own kid without having to struggle.

Parents who

swear and scream at their kids no matter where they are.

It's normally the parents of kids with 3 day old ice cream on their faces and snot running into their mouths.

 

But because I'm big, strong and healthy

I often have to run the gauntlet of people demanding to know why I have the badges. Why they think I'm answerable to them God only knows, but as I always have Laura with me at the time, I always answer politely (whilst fighting the urge to inflict pain and suffering to the accuser).

 

When you start

Smokers who congregate outside the Hospital doors...

I think sometimes its because to some people, unless you're in a wheelchair then you're not disabled.
