Welland is one of the places you get both on one road. The top part is awful, but the other end is nice.

    It's an example of a ***** oil.

Wentworth is far and away the nicest place in the area, though technically under Rotherham MBC now. Just don't move next to me, I'm a nightmare. I should be on Welland cres.

The second one is in a decent area. My aunt lived near there. The first one is not too either. It looks a bit small for a 3 bed semi, bedrooms especially.

Hey Jamdrop, c'mon girl it's game day. For the next 3 hours the best place to live is Oakwell.

Concrete Canyon in Bolton on Dearne........... puts Welland Crescent well down the pecking order of (not so) nice places in the boundaries of BMBC

Me too, although only from Chapeltown so at least I didn't have to pass the sty every day. Highly recommend it so far, convenient, good transport links, house prices reasonable and the trans-pennine trail on your doorstep. Plus the neighbours aren't all fowls and blunts...

As has been said earlier, Manvers is nice as is Wath in general, not Barnsley I know but only 10 minutes from town or M1 so maybe worth a look JD...You may be lucky on the jobs front at schools in the area too.
