I've never watched a player and doubted that he had played professional football before.

The day we got Basset as Manager. I refused to renew my season ticket and stopped coming to oakwell, had to eat humble pie and go to wembley though, but proved right the following season. As soon as he left I returned, he The play off's were achieved despite basset not because of him. Hendrie should have had longer

i thought the same but he has got a good record as a manager so i gave him the benefit of the doubt.

still made some strange decisions like dropping histrov after he had scored 5 in 3 games or something (taking him off against sheff u 3-3 away)
and dropping hignett at times!

thats exactly my opinion we didnt give hendry long enough he brought in some good players. ok bassett got us to wembley but the football we started playing once he took over was disgusting, it was like watching the old sheff utd team with all the long balls.

I reckon going in to the premiership spoiled us.

We were a good, local team playing attractive football. We went to the Prem, spent more money than we had, and bought players because they sounded foreign.

Bad management upstairs allowing it to happen. After we'd gone up, we should have stuck with the squad we had and strengthened parts of it with proven premiership players.

I mean Eric Tinker, ffs!:-|
