The rest of us have obviously been watching Bobby Hassell much longer and much more closely than you, Hemsie. As a experienced seasoned pro, Bobby lets the ball do the work nowadays.
How many goals did we conceed in the Leeds and Derby games with Bobby on the pitch? Then how many have we conceeded since then with him back out of the team for one reason or another?
EsL I said hassell played well but he's not a replacement for Dawson. Dawson offers a lot more going forward. Can carry the ball 40/50 yard Hassell best dm at the club but how many matches do we need a dedicated dm for many games. IMO no
But could Dawson control a ball with either foot like Bobby? Or win practically every header? And anyway, at Leeds Bobby was everywhere - our box making crucial interceptions etc, their box firing volleys just wide, and generally bossing the centre of the park. That's why Danny admitted yesterday that Dawson was only in because Bobby had picked up a knock. You will eventually be right about him Hemsworth. But you've been wrong for the last four years, so..
Also, that run that Dawson went on against Derby resulted in what exactly? A pass back to the opposition keeper. I actually think that Dawson has played alright these last few games; he definitely does drive the team at times but for me, he lacks a bit of composure and awareness.
Dawson can't lace bobbys boots and never will be able to. Like comparing a reliant robin to a porsche
