Disgaree. Phillips is more aggressive & more of an all round midfielder for me. Get stuck in, gets up and down. I don't think there's anything wrong with where DKD was asked to play last night, or has been asked to play this year so far - I just don't think he's played particularly well. If anything, playing in a side with Phillips, McGoldrick & Vickers should offer him more space & chances - he just hasn't seemed to take them. He'll be right - and I think we'll be better for him going through this & adjusting.

The Phillips comparison to Conor's first year with us is very fair though.

Absolutely spot on with DKD 4 and Shep 8.
2 completely different performances which I was not expecting.

Regardless of systems you work around things to get the best out of your best player.

Or, which is my view, you find a system that suits the group you've got. We did exactly what you described last year & were rubbish (imho).

DKD is a good player - I've never thought he was the £5m player people talked about - and I think he'll do well for us this year in this system and we're already showing we're a better team for it, too.

I think the biggest factor in DKD’s slight drop off is the amount of minutes he’s played. Think I’m right in saying he’s started every game this season and played the vast majority of minutes. He played a part in the first goal with his link up play last night, if he stays he’ll grow into the season.

A good manager can be flexible and not be stuck to a system. I wouldn’t be messing my best player around to shoehorn in a 38 forward is progress or looking to the future. But of course you are entitled to your view that it’s a great plan.

We didn’t do exactly what o suggested last season you know that but just say ridiculous things. We had our only forward other real option out injured for most of the season

Exactly this, he was limping for most of the time he was on the pitch. He’s having a lean spell, but he’ll come through it. It’s comedy gold reading some of the posts on here about him.

Behave, He was injured yesterday, and previous to that, Didzy looked to have taken up the positions he was getting himself into last season. This ‘had his head turned’ is nonsense. He may well leave this week, who knows, but that doesn’t mean he ‘s had his head turned.

I'm actually okay DKD not lighting it up right now to avoid some bids- no doubt he will hit form at some point
