My favourite tarn laiker ever, Craig Hignett, he didn't work his ******** off. He wasn't lazy or owt, he put himself about a bit like Butterfield did more recently but most of his work was done trying to find space where he'd be at his most dangerous.

So you can have so-called luxury players. But you also need an enforcer, a work horse in there as well. And as much folk keep suggesting that's Dawson, I really don't think he is. He rarely wins owt in the air or on the deck. He's not a holding player, or enforcing type. And Woods is a nothing player from what I've seen. Offers us nowt at all, defensively or going forward. Which then impacts on the likes of Mellis, Jennings, RNL, Paddy etc. But it's usually those 'creative' players who then get it in the neck from fans.

Simply put, it's a team game and the team operates at its best when the majority of players do what's asked of them by the manager. You can sometimes carry one or two poor performers on any given day. But if half of them are below par, then you're up **** creek. And for the last two games - in my opinion - our entire midfield have been below par, or worse (last night).

Let's hope Danny has the answers and fast. Looking at Bolton's recent form (last 12 games or so) they're going to be difficult to beat. Very much so. We could be eight points adrift by the time we travel to Charlton and this 'battle' could well be over by the time Leeds come to Tarn. Perish the ******* thought.

Aye it's never going to be helpful at the game is it? I just don't understand it. Supporting your team should be just that not victimising a particular player. Mellis has lost his way his confidence people forget that this is only his second season as a professional playing regularly and that he's just a young lad.

I don't think people think we can attract the quality ones who come for big money but we should be developing players & improving our current ones. Mellis is physically maturing & should be fitter than this time last year but he seems to have gone backwards.

I appreciate others like McCourt will never have a consistent 90 minutes in him as he simply hasn't got it in him, whether he has naturally poor stamina or it's from living a poor lifestyle I'm not so sure but it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks

U wouldn't want a creative player to work hard. Just be used right where they can do what they do best.

But I see Mellis not been lazy, but playing where he doesn't want to be. Not his game to win the ball. If that's what Danny wanted Frimpong was there.

But I think Mellis is an easy target, yesterday he ran back, got a good tackle in. Dawson played ball to Kennedy who passed to COG. But because Mellis was on his was up there were unnecessary obscure calls of lazy lovely person etc. WTF do u expect, he tried but it's not his game.

Just like putting Roy Keane behind the front 2 back in day wouldn't be his.
