I haven't heard anything other than the Radio Station thing a couple of times and the presenters (not sure actually if it was your or not) but they sounded very broad. Not sure it's something that would work well on a national level. I did like your written work and read most of your posts.
That wasn't done in broad tarn accents either. Maybe he means Football Report/Red All Over which is now on Dearne. Hudds' Red has had a mare either way - it's BARNSLEY Player!
I think Whitey should where one of those Darth Vader voice changing helmets when doing the interviews
I think you've mistaken me for someone else. No worries. Do you subscribe to Barnsley Player? If not, can I please ask you to think about doing so - it's just £4 a month and has full match commentary of every game, highlights, full match replays featuring full commentary, pre and post match player/manager interviews, features on players, videos showcasing players and their abilities, highlights of the academy sides, interviews with academy coaches, and a whole lot more besides, all in high definition. Did I say it's just £4 a month? And every penny goes back into the club to help pay for new seats to break. Enjoy the game tomorrow. You Reds.
I can understand where you're coming from, not regarding whitey specifically but in general TV/radio presenters have a professional voice and accent. Where your complaint falls down is in two key areas. Firstly whitey (and the rest of them) are employed for their written skills as much as their oral skills (oo-er) and secondly he, and the rest, are not presenting a national TV show, they are providing commentary for Barnsley fans and conducting interviews for Barnsley fans on a Barnsley FC subscription based service. Why the hell would a stuck up Eton educated Qpr fan for example be tuning in to the Barnsley sided commentary and focusing on the commentators accent? If anybody is doing that then I'd say they've got far bigger problems than a bloke who may or may not have got a typical Barnsley accent doing his dream job for bfc
Sound like dingles? I believe that would be a North Yorkshire accent if you are going by the TVs programme. If you are going by the first fans to be called dingles then he'd have a Wolverhampton accent or maybe the second fans to be called dingles which were burnley. None of the three mentioned areas have an accent like ours. I don't get it
I don't do my job for the money. First time in my life I've been able to say that. But I like that idea of commission. But for the new seats. A quid a seat. I'd be laughing.
I apologise if I have misjudged dear old Whitey. I actually believe him to be an asset to the club with his passion for everything BFC.
There is no accent-ism in TV or Radio presentation and commentary these days. It isn't the 1950s anymore.
Any chance of getting me in on ground maintanence. I'd take a significant wage drop, for painting, bricklaying jobs etc. Got own van too. You know it makes sense. Job of a lifetime.
