I have a broad Barnsley accent, but I dilute and elocute when broadcasting or my voice would be unlistenable, as many folk I know tell me it is in real life :D

There still is a bit to be fair, not so much regional accents but they don't tend to put people on TV who sound thick as pigshit (though maybe that's because they ARE thick as pigshit?).

Just to be clear I'm not lumping whitey into that category of people, I can't remember what his voice or accent is like

One final post on the subject from me - the people I work alongside have been brilliant with me and I'm proud of the graft they put in day in, day out, above and beyond their duty/remit.

Weird that folk knock BFC considering the last year or so.

Promotion. Two Wembley trips. Two trophies. 3rd in the Championship. Getting good money for players. New scoreboard. Bottle tops on bottles. TV's switched on. Lots of work planned for the concourse int East Stand. Better fan engagement than ever. Employing folk who give a ****.

Have a little look at our friends in Sheffield 2 or Ben's lads in Beeston.

    Think on.

And goodnight. Up early to be cringey at Preston. :D #YouReds

I think this is the sort of presentation style HuddersfiedRed is looking for

Out of total curiosity Whitey as I didn't even know you had a job at the club we love, what is it you're doing? Fair play to you, to be honest, i'd love a job at the club.

Thought you were going to bed. You're probs in said bed right now.
My tip for you......have more questions at the ready when you're interviewing. You ran dry....also.... Ask them some more interesting questions rather than the bog standard **** all reporters ask. I am genuinely interested in supporting your career progression. Pm (although I don't know how that works) me if you want to chat over a beer. I interview and recruit for a living. Problem is I'm **** st it

I've never met Whitey but I'm made up for him. Job he's always wanted for the employer he's always loved. I think I feel closer to the club than I ever have before (or at least since 96/97 but I was a bairn then) and it's things like this that are the reasons why.

A proper local club, employing proper local fans. Just need to put Dyson in charge of programmes now.

Like I said mate i'm glad you're there. I started a blog and put a few entries in, posted it on here and got nice comments, one from you incidentally. I then got sidetracked (and still am) because of the other half and her debilitating illness, god bless her.

Nothing that is as good as yours and especially your videos which look and feel very professional. I won't give up, just need the girlfriend to get better the arse.

The club has been great at connecting / reconnecting with fans of late. Maybe success through the past year has helped but we have seen Matt return to Comentary and I have personally spoken with people who have cancelled player and now returned since Matt came back. Not to support Matt personally but because they think it's better. Norbert from WSB, one of their most active writers has now been invited to write for the program. Whitey being hired is another passionate and vocal fan being given a chance to make a difference alongside the other lads. I know em all personally and I'm made up for them as I know they will give it their all.

As for the accent, when I was 25 I moved from a local company to a large corporate organisation and thought I wonder if my broad accent will help or hinder. Nearly 30 years later moving up the org, working as and with C level professionals, board room execs, professional media and government officials I can categorically say it hasn't hindered. In fact in a global society everyone has a regional accent. The symbol of where your from when the brand even has Barnsley in its title should be embraced by BFC, which it clearly has.
