There's only one bloke I'd be confident could do a better job short term. I can't stand the football his teams play or his cynical attitude to the game. It's irrelevant as he already has a job at Cardiff. I'm happy to stick with PH and in the medium term maybe we'll reap further rewards from the testing of his abilities he's getting now.
Didn't Mark Robins leave us because he couldn't work within our budget? I'd say the financial gap between us and the others has opened further since then, given the amount of debt a lot of clubs are shackled with.
I've asked two former work mates who are Forest fans for their views on Billy Davies during the two spells he had at the County Ground as the Forest Manager. He apparently had a toxic relationship with the supporters of the Club and would only go towards them and applaud them if Forest won. He took very much to heart any criticism he received from both the national press and social media and very rarely gave post match interviews. There was an article in the Guardian about him that said he gradually totally shattered his own reputation and brought about his own downfall through self destructive insecurities, paranoia, obsession with conspiracy theories and a veritable "shoal" of personal grudges. He went head to head with the then owner of the Club which was not a very wise move. Does he sound like what we're looking for.? Not for me. We've surely got to give Hecky and his team time to turn it round. If he was in complete control of who is bought and sold I feel we would be justified in heaping all our criticism on him personally but as long as the present recruitment model is in force, as far as I am concerned he must be given the chance to achieve success with the latest intake of players surely.?
This fella who managed Jossies Giants is the only one I’d swap Hecky for unless Bullet Baxter From Grange Hill is available. Though I’m not sure Bullet would be willing to accept the spreadsheet to govern signings.
sorry for other posts newbie -remember southampton went from prem to div2- regrouped promoted and sold their best players who came through the ranks as youngsters. it all takes time=with new owners we just might turn it around this year. we are going through a big transitional period- how many teams in our division have sold more 1st team players than us. That was not Hecky. He was hamstrung with our previous policies and i.m.h.o. had no time to to re-organise our buying in jan trasnfer, and will be still unsure of ALL new management decisions with players wages etc.
Agree . Need time and to date we are doing ok the policy is long term and the new players need settling time currently we are a yo-yo club and need that next step to consolidate . I hope we stay up but if we don't it's not the end . Stick to the manager and keep getting stronger. It's a lot brighter than the dark days of division 4 and more fun
I’m not sure I even need to comment. Over and above writing this. I think that post sums you up quite nicely. My word.
