3 days before I was born we drew 0-0 at home to Blackburn. 4 days after I was born we drew 0-0 away at Bournemouth. Seems I was born in to tedium and things have more or less shuffled along the same way ever since.

Incidentally, to all you modern day footballers who think you're over worked, the following is Barnsley's schedule at the beginning of April 1972:

English Division 3 (old) Barnsley 1-0 Bolton 01-04-1972
English Division 3 (old) Rochdale 0-2 Barnsley 03-04-1972
English Division 3 (old) Barnsley 0-1 Brighton 04-04-1972
English Division 3 (old) Barnsley 0-0 Blackburn 08-04-1972

Yes, it was Gary Pierce, I went to the match .........

....... we got stuck in the London rush hour traffic and missed the first 15 minutes, when we got in the ground we had Glyn Riley in the nets but played great and won 3-2. I remember getting home to bed about 4am and just got up in time to watch Football Focus (or whatever it was called then) to see the league table with us at the top, happy days!
