Fry. Not sure if he won the olympics but he held the world record.

That's the feller -J.B. Fry. Was told about him in my youth by mi dad. I may have lost a bit in translation over the passing years. Still not a bad effort as regards best sportsman ever though

Difficult, i wouldnt say Ali, great fighter but lost 4 times. Senna was good but Schmacher was better. Its got to be Tim Henman - they names a hill after him :)

    Ed Moses

Between 1977 and 1987, Moses won 107 consecutive finals (122 consecutive races) and set the world record for the 440 hurdles four times.

Failing him it's got to be Phil Taylor.

How good was Schumacher when he returned to F1 though and didn't have the best car anymore?

    How about a woman...

Chrissie Wellington. Started 14 Ironmen triathlons, won 14. World record holder and 4x world champion in probably the single hardest sport out there.

Mohammed Ali, he was the greatest! And he did a lot outside of the ring too, like refusing to be drafted for Vietnam. 'I got nothing against no Viet Cong. No Vietnamese ever called me a '******'.'

Gonna throw some names out that have not been said... Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham (even though he's not done much since his days at Man Utd he's still world famous and fills stadiums everywhere).
