I think you're getting a little but confused....

There's more than one reason why people support a football team other than the location of their birth. Its not just about glory hunting.

Going by your statement me and Loko The Tyke should Leeds Utd fans. I can assure you, we're not. So, should I not be supporting Barnsley?

RE: I think you're getting a little but confused....

    Examples:

    1) First match you ever saw. I have a mate who went to watch Barnsley at Reading and has following Barnsley ever since. He lives in Southampton.

    2) Who your dad supports. Another mate from the North East, dad born and bred Barnsley, so his son follows the reds.

    3) Your friends watch them- this is my excuse. When I got bored of rugby league when fev were booted out of Superleague- I could quite easily have gone to Elland Road and watched footy. My mate took me to Oakwell and I've been going ever since.

i support Barnsley because my dad does...good enough for me

I go as often as possible even though I've never lived closer than 2 hours away, and unfortunately I'm usually by myself...but I wouldn't change being a reds fan for anything

If he supported his local football team it'd be Steinkjær just north of Trondheim (Rosenborg).

    What the ??ck

I was only posting a toungue in cheek response and Jay throws his toys out of his cot. I know the original post really meant those that lived away from the immediate vicinity of the 'well didnt quite expect that sort of response. I must admint though I would categorise Wombwell as a seperate place
