Agreed Mate.

Have to say I was very unsure when I first heard his name mentioned about being a possibility. But having thought about it, im delighted for the lad. Eriksson has apparently watched him more than any other player over the last few weeks. Sven must know what he is doing. If he has watched him recently, he obviously knows more than us. Would have expected him to have been a stand-by though for Rooney rather than going regardless.

One thing is sure though, other nations wont know a thing about him. He could definately be our secret weapon. Well done Sven on taking the gamble.

    Involve him for experience

cos he will benefit when in the next World Cup squad. for sure, he couldve taken Defoe and/or Bent, but would either of them get a game infront of Owen or a half fit Rooney? better to use a squad place to gain necessary experience.

that, however, does not explain Owen Hargreaves.

    Fast forward two months..

He'll score a hat trick in the world cup final, against brazil.

he'll be hailed on here as the saviour of english football

dreamboy 3000 will have claimed he found him playing for someones reserves

and BFCFan4Life will have a poll going for "who didn't want him in the squad."

    Bet you...
