Nope. You are correct Hamill also had a 500k clause in his contract that wolves got wind of

but then there is no point if the release clause is too heavily in the players favour - which it was with McIndoe (and Vas Te) - if the player performs well like you hope - he is gone next transfer window. If he fails you are stuck with him.
If as alleged Stendels Release clause is €2 million I have no problem with that but the release clause for McIndoe was way too low we would have been better off not signing him

All the Leeds hammering merge in to one for me!

Was 5-2 the Gary O’Conner one? Was there even a 5-2?

I think in an era where you’re happy taking a three month loan it was definitely worth signing them. We made a profit and we got a very good player for a set time.

To say you’d rather we didn’t have them seems backwards to me. If we didn’t have Hammill the first time we wouldn’t have had him the second time. Those memories are forever.

Your memory's better than mine, mate. I looked it up. And yes, O'Connor scored the opener (on debut) in the 5-2. I had to look that one up too.

I have no idea on Glavin, but at the time was there excitement we were signing him?

I was excited about Ward. But wasn’t expecting him to turn out half as good as he did.

Don’t all laugh at once, but I was surprised when we signed “champions league winner” Ross Turnbull.... (albeit from Donny) no idea why, as in retrospect he averaged less than 10 games a season over 15 seasons by the time he retired... other than that, yep, Hamill and Hignett....

Most of our current squad are clearly quality signings.
We just need those signings to become a quality team - whether through additional signings or whatever.
The squad isn’t the finished item - and frustratingly the owners have yet to put that right.

Fjortoft has to be on that list, with his record for Swindon.

I'd say Fjortoft was a more exciting signing than Ward in terms of reputation and goals, but Ward turned out to be one of the best ever.

Also Dyer (Britain’s first million pounds teenager), Shipperley, Mike’s Heron and Paul Wilkinson all proven goalscorers at Premier League level before they joined us.
