Well that just proves what everyone is saying. You don't want him if we win all our matches? How exactly is that supporting Barnsley?
That's the point your personal agenda gives you more pleasure than supporting your team which is just sad.
I was 8 when Danny left Barnsley. But how can you not see that he'd taken this club as far as he could. He'd taken us into the premier league where we fell fairly short in becoming an established team. He'd been given a bit of a budget, maybe nowhere near as much as some clubs but nonetheless a budget worthy of attempting to stay up. The fact he left to go to Wednesday is only significant in the fact that they had a healthier budget, fan base and more experience in the premier league, he should have done more there. Had he left for Leicester or West Ham for example, would you have had the same agenda towards Wilson? Players and managers move to rival clubs, it's sometimes upsetting but it's just football. It was 17 years ago, get over it.
Unless it's a sit anywhere ticket policy. Then you flounce about and don't bother going. Reyt fan you.
I support barnsley football club. It does mean I have like a man that shafted barnsley I was wrong to want him in the first place
Shafted us by taking us to the Premier League? 17 years on I am far more grateful to him for taking us there than I could ever be angry at him for him leaving us.
If champagne football, promotion and a unified town are on his agenda again, I'm looking forward to getting shafted again. I get the opinions about not reappointing previous managers per se, but he did more than most for our club in his 4 years. It's subsequent regimes, particularly the last 2 that have shafted us. Wilson's legacy, a team that Hendrie and Bassett built using post premier league transfer fees and wages, was 1 game, and arguably a penalty kick, away from repeating his success. Opinions about his management ability are fair enough and I'm sure his other clubs supporters have plenty of them, but the most successful manager in the clubs recent history surely deserves respect for that era. I've no beef with anyone for holding him to account for here and now. That said, i think he's doing a steady job, and I'd give him 4 years come what may.
So getting us into the premiereship for the first and only time (so far) with a team heavily tipped for relegation wasn't repaying us? Your argument on that subject is ***** mate tbh.
its was the middle of the pitch pledge to stay at the end of the season followed by (within days) the departure that caused the ill feeling and to make matters worse he pi55ed off to hillsborough,i for one will never believe him that he didnt have an inkling that move was imminent. however he is here now and even tho i didnt want him back he has my full support and needs time to sort us out,i wouldnt even dream of sacking him to be honest.
Heavily tipped for religation, font think so he steadily built a good side amd then singed a couple of gems, certainly were not relegation candidates
