Bar they had had a couple of play off near misses Don't think anyone other a few fans tipped us to go straight up though, but good odds for play offs
Aye exactly. Got us playing some great football as well. We were a pleasure to watch irrespective of whether we went up or not. Tyrone didn't even know we were the bookies favourites for relegation as we normally always were.
Favourites to be relegated with the bookies after losing our top scorer, and the likes of Archdeacon and O'Connell departing. Then signing a handful of laikers nobody had heard of.
No I mean go up Wilson was am astute appointment first time round and an shocking one the second time round
Tbf he wasn't my first thought on either appointment but the first time was geniusly lucky and the second time he was head and shoulders above the other applicants. And on both occasions got my full backing irrespective of my initial thoughts.
No idea but wilson had effectively been running the team from Jan of the previous season. A season where we had a remarkable turn round in performances. My only worry was that viv Anderson would turn down boro and stay
really? from memory - and it is admittedly a very distant memory - danny wilson had received dogs abuse as a player from most quarters, and was seen very much as yet another cheap option by many. the only thing that tilted in his favour, was viv anderson being so woefully $hit. i certainly don't recall him being a fans favourite when he got appointed - by any stretch...
Dennis claims to have still got aplication form from Oneill brags about it every oppertunity think there were plenty of aplications but viv put in a massive word on Wilson's behalf and had Also become a bit of a fans favourite as a player after being a villain in his first season.
I think right now it's about rebuilding the club, getting the foundations in place because that's not been here for several seasons. I get the feeling it us happening, it's going to take time but I really feel all is well. I have to say I don't like the original post but everyone is entitled to have their say......
No idea. How am I supposed to know which managers will be available and doing well in 10 years when Wilson retires?
Chuff me AthersleyRec will be above us if that was the case Of course wilson has never broken a contract and he never will
I have to disagree slightly. I might have left. I wouldn't have told everyone I was staying and asked people to renew season tickets first though
