RE: Gonna give it a miss for a while

You give Coronation Street a miss for a while when the plot gets a bit desperate. Not your own football club. Crikey Moses!

    Not a hope in hell.

Decided mid-season not to waste my hard-earned watching this clown supervise operations (I feel I have the right to judge - I was a season ticket holder before most on here were born).

At the mo, I won't buy me and the lad a match-day ticket, therefore a season ticket is waaaaaaaaaaaaay over the horizon.

    No slating necessary.

Well thought out words - you summed up more than just your own feelings.

Agree with you about the fans who keep going, they have my respect too. Some would call them stupid, but fair play to them.

    Oh yes, of course.

It's about the team, through thick and thin.

First time in a long time im thinking about not getting one

Only ever miss home games due to holidays or work but i feel like im drifting away from what i have loved for so many years, i cant explain it but Davey is driving me away from my club. His negative style of football and his appalling in game tactics are pushing me over the edge.

Will i get a season ticket? Probably yes when it comes down to it but for the first time ever it crossed my mind not to renew and see what happens.

RE: Gonna give it a miss for a while

The plot is desperate for BFC now, but I'm not bailing out this season. The tickets paid for and I'll be supporting them till the last game even though the plot is as desperate as it can be. Next season is a new plot though, and as the manager will probably remain the same, I've chosen not to financially support the club with its current management. I believe that for me to continue supporting the club financially means that I condone Simon's leadership. I now have had enough of Simon's management style, and I'll not be renewing my season ticket because I can find no other way to express my dissatisfaction. Personally I'm able to do this, others feel differently about the club than I do. Some may think thats wrong, but for me, that is my choice and I can live with that.

As it happens, I've never missed an episode of Coronation Street no matter how desperate the plot was. That just shows how p1ss3d I am with Simon Davey, maybe if he became Blanche's next love interest I'd consider turning off.

over the last two and half seasons I've seen far too many uninspiring performances

I'm starting to wonder if it would be better if I kept my money in my pocket and went to the odd big game instead. I'm not sure I can stand Daveys tactics anymore.

I'm really debating it, might just go to the odd game next year. I'm a season ticket holder now and been to 14 away games this year to see just the 3 wins (Doncaster, Charlton and Wednesday) don't get me wrong those game were great but i'm sick of financially backing this club whilst that loser is in charge. More or less every away game he sets his team up to get a bore 0-0 draw or try and hit them on the counter attack- half of the time we end up losing anyways! I used to enjoy watching us at Oakwell remembering a time when we used to go there expecting a win all the time, now we get a point if were lucky! There's no proper football being played, players being played out of position, players falling out with the management (Christensen, Kozluk, Howard, Souza), negative tactics home and away, coming back from 3/4 hour trips on a right downer after watching us, not making changes when needs be and changing it too late and most of all the tactics are mind boggling. I'm sorry, i love this club but it's being run under the wrong management staff. All that being said, it'll come to the renewal date and i'll renew it.

    Pretty much what Hemsworth says

Apart from I havent been to as many aways and only seen the away win at Charlton. (not seen too many home wins either come to think of it!)

As boggy trudged off the pitch yesterday to chants of "you dont know what you're doing" aimed at Davey I caught myself thinking another demonstration of how out of touch Davey is with the people who pay his wages.

I have been used to Barnsley sides playing to win with attractive football where possible. We've had periods where we have been not very good but we have never really been a team that tries to kill a game and play for a 0-0 and maybe just maybe nick all 3.

For most of the last 2.5 years that is exactly what Davey has set out to do. I wouldnt really want that style of play if we were any good at it but it would be hard to knock it if we were pushing for a playoff place, but the fact is we are not so we go into the last 10 minutes of games expecting the inevitable. Its not enjoyable.

I have said I will seriously consider not renewing if Davey is given another year - but I know that come renewal time I will almost certainly condem my self to another year of torture. Been watching us for nearly 40 years and seen enough good and bad times to know that for us at least there are ups and downs - This for me counts as a down and cant see it changing until we change the manager. Dont know who we could replace him with though - for me the best managers we have had have been those we gambolled on and gave a first go at management to - Clarke Hunter Wilson. Not really worked this time with Davey time to move on

My Dad bought me my first one for the 1969/70 season

And I've had one ever since. I'll get another one next season. However, that won't stop me criticising anything I don't agree with at the club.

I Only Got 1 This Season Because It Was A Xmas Present From My Dad

The last ST i had was during Ritchies promotion season.

IWONT get 1 next season but will still go to every home game & a handful off away matches regardless of what division we are & if Davey is in charge or not
