If we had a midfield that could see a pass now and again, 20 goals a season plus

Depends if we go up or not

    If we go up then

    Colgan, Kay, Vaughan

If we don't go up then Colgan is fine but get rid of Kay

Also much depends on players available - if we can get players in for any position that are better than those we already have then we should do so, current player than becomes backup, current backup on their bike! Or have I been playing Football Manager too much?

"We need defenders who are taller, more mobile. If we play a team who are big and hoof it up to the front two, we lose. If a team plays football against us, we rarely lose."

Weve only lost 1 in the last 16 games and have one of the best defensive records in the division.

There's always room for improvement, and if we go up then I think the defence is the area that will be found out. The defensive record isn't that great anymore and what advantages we have had in that area have been more to do with a good midfield helping an average defence out this year.

If we go up i would expect to see wholesale changes to cope in a higher division.

    RE: red tyke....

Totally agree with what you say.

I get the impression that a lot of people on this bulletin board rate a players ability over 1 performance! ie McPhail this saturday, yes he was off the pace, yes he was far from his best - but he is a quality player and before he was injured he was pulling the strings, or is a month or so far too long for people to think back on!!
