That's far from the truth: the dismissive posts are all over on here.

Everyone should be 'delighted' with the takeover.
And have a cautious optimism thereafter.:p

I’m cautiously optimistic and at the same time incredibly excited following the takeover announcement and today’s press conference.

We’ve now got an oppprtunity to grow the BFC brand in India, China and the USA and the commercial opportunities that this presents are absolutely fantastic, the possibilities are endless.

It’s great to hear that the new investors are level headed and are looking to build on what we already have at the club as opposed to doing anything “crazy”.

Could you point me in the direction of these

    please ?

I have see some concerns from fans and rightly so as we really have no idea what is going to happen, so we just have to wait and see.

But your OP comes across as nothing more than making **** up to try and cause confrontation and garner attention for yourself

I'd argue that there are a number of posters tempering the giddiness of those suggesting we're going to be splashing out big money in January. I'm cautiously pleased that the takeover has happened, I just don't think we'll notice a sea change in what we do.

    Really...
Every person should be royally happy right now.
We don't need it pointing out that we will not be spending millions ( we're not wendy)
We will not be a feeder club to a league that is poor (apart from 2 or 3 teams)
We won't be shafted in the transfer window (sure there's plenty of clubs who have plenty to spend and have done since time immemorial)
Sure we won't see a ticket increase ( need to encourage a healthier crowd)

Hopefully we will now see an ownership that truly values the consumer, one that embraces the community it serves. Here's to an end to a stuffy introverted parochialism.

I think your last paragraph is way out of order if you are having a go our previous owner

    You're forgetting an important thing.

This is Barnsley fans you're talking about. Some won't allow themselves to be happy, and even if they are they won't show it.

One particlar guy that posts on Facebook regularly said he wouldn't go to Oakwell again, Patrick Cryne was a crook and that were all mugs for putting money in his pocket.

He's now changed tack, and is already writing off the new regime.

So in summary, yes we should all be **** a hoop, but some won't be. They won't allow themselves to be.

Define People? A couple? I've hardly seen anything negative in fact quite the opposite. Cautious perhaps.

I think you're spot on with that last paragraph. I'm looking forward to someone with absolutely nowt to do with the town coming in, new ideas and a new approach. They seem to be focusing on improving the crowds, l cant wait to see their ideas.

I agree and cautious optimism is probably the best description. I feel that it will take the rest of this season to get a real feel as to how the new regime will function.

In my opinion it is vital to ensure that the club remain in the Championship this season so that investment can be made into a Championship club. I think relegation this year would have a greater impact on the progression of the club than the most recent spell in League 1

I’d be more inclined to ask why do people have strong views either positive or negative? Truth is we know next to nothing about these new owners. They came across great in the press conference & I trust Patrick Cryne so I’ll just wait & see & hope for the best

Your idea of a negative post is when someone posts in praise of something good that's happened to the club. Your idea of a positive post is when you post to criticise something you think is bad about the club.

This particular point to me isn't a criticism of the new regime. If anything it's a massive positive. It shows our new owners (at least on the face of it) respect the same values as Patrick in making this club the best run club in the country. There are few other clubs which are self sufficient, particularly at our level and we should be proud of that. The only criticism I have of our previous employment of this plan is that we've probably been a little too over cautious. This resulted in us being set back 2 seasons at the start of this season. I think we're on a road to recovery in that sense, and further investment should aid that recovery and progression going forward.
