RE: If we'd signed David Beckham I wouldn't have an issue with it at all

I knew there was something about Donovan and him being a hypocrite. I think the agreement with AC Milan and Galaxy included Beckham signing for extra years at Galaxy so they obviously think Becks is worth it

RE: Because their knowledge of soccer is so limited

Generally speaking, amongst most of the population - yes their knowledge of the sport is limited, but this criticism is coming from the hard core fans, and I've spoked with fans in the US and they are as knowledgable as any fan here. The lengths they go to in order to watch live European games as well.

There was an interview on Radio 5 last week with a LA season ticket holder and the presenter tried to goad him with a comment of "Beckham shouldn't have gone to play in a Mickey Mouse league", given that type of statement the fan was very well restrained and said "Perhaps not, but he did, and therefore he should be showing the commitment. And if it's such a lower standard then he should be head and shoulders above every other player on the field, but he's not"
They had a better record without him.

Agreed that they don't quite understand the country thing, because representative sport isn't a big thing there. Then again, how many people on here would put England before Barnsley?

Having a better record without beckham

Perhaps down to them finally having a decent manager in place?

Guillet and the clown they had before him did nothing for the side, as soon as they appointed arena(?) they've started to look like a good team, beckham will only add to that in the back end, and most crucial, part of the season. There fans should get behind him!

Not if we were paying him that kind of money

And when he joined he was supposed to be playing every game for us. I would expect him to be with us for the whole season.

We wouldn't be paying him while he wasn't playing for us

The way he's being treated is bizarre, banners in the crowd, personal abuse, etc.

He extended his loan by three months, never slated the club, the fans, or the mls, and has returned to finish the season and fight for honours. He's insisted time and time again that he intends to see out his 5 year contract. If he was playing for us i'd fully respect that.

I think the Americans are so clueless from a footballing supporter sense that they've watched a few videos of European fans, and decided beckham is the next luis figo/sol Campbell!

    Disagree

When yu sign someone you sign them to play in every game of every season of his deal and he clearly isn't fulfilling this.

Because they don't realise that he's a good player playing in a **** league

and Becks has now realised this and wants to move back to europe. And if he doesn't then the chances of him staying in the England squad are bleak. But the Americans don't realise this, they still call it saccer ffs.

Capello told him that if he doesn't play in europe then he wouldn't chose him in his England selections, so why hasn't becks moved back.

Sorry, but you are showing your ignorance of football fans there - they are extremely knowledgable of a sport that gets little mainstream coverage.

He made his bed, let the 'image is everything' tw*t lie in it. Let him finish his days in the US of A - he can move into films then, like a wussie Vinnie Jones

I never said they weren't knowledgable about the sport

They've got very little experience of having big name players like beckham play in the mls, and as a result have no idea how to behave or react to his three-month loan extension in Milan.

Has beckham done something so bad that he deserves banners in the crowd telling him to 'go home fraud'? Since beckham joined the galaxy the mls has had more media coverage than ever before with attendances on the rise, and the Americans are just inexperienced at dealing with it.

Their behaviour is ridiculous, surely you can't deny that?

Agree - he took the dollar and he should live with it.</p>

And if he's such a great player in such a **** league - why doesn't he stand out more than he does?
