I get the colour blind thing in certain situations but there are loads of cases where I'm sure it's not an issue. Oxford away being an example. I believe the most common problem is red/green.
This has always annoyed the hell out of me, seeing teams pratting about in 2nd or even 3rd choice kits for no apparent reason. What was wrong for example, with us and Oxford both wearing our normal kits at Wembley ?. So I couldn't understand the need for all white away to them last week. Is it really that hard for both teams to play in the same coloured shorts or socks, like we did away at Peterborough and once again, for no apparent reason.
Pretty sure he's been on here to explain it a few times before, and it's the ref who makes the final call
The way I understood it was that we agree with the opposition ahead of the match, then the ref has to OK it. So it's still the club that makes the decision about which kit to wear. Realistically, no ref is going to tell us that it's a problem wearing red against Peterborough, Portsmouth, Oxford or Cambridge.
Kit Crimes @KitCrimes · 29m Remarkable incompetence displayed tonight by @BarnetFC . In their desperation not to wear orange, they instead wore purple at Halifax, created a kit clash and delayed kick-off while Halifax changed into their away kit.
Similarly against Oxford. If for some bizarre reason we couldn't wear red then the black strip would have contrasted far better with their yellow than white.
From my pal who is a Ref: Clubs decide and EFL approve it. Refs have no say in it. Refs just chose 1 of the 4 colours that doesn’t clash. So definitely a club decision.
If it was the all black kit though, they'd probably say the shorts would clash with Oxford's black looking navy blue shorts. What if we'd mixed the kits, like that night at Brentford, black shirts and white shorts lol.
This weekend both Rangers and Man Utd played vs teams who also wore the same colour shorts. So the shorts thing is a nonsense also. Basically we would have been allowed to play in Red and White but we chose to go for the the shirt with least contrast to Portsmouth’s just as we did vs Oxford when we went with the shirt with the least contrast.
Also at Peterborough, they played in Blue shirts, navy shorts, we played in black shirts black shorts. No contrast, and absolutely no reason for us not to play in red and white.
