Why didn't we buy Alfie when we had the chance?

    You've posted on the same weekend he has come off the bench to score twice in the premier league.

    When we and indeed Reading were interested, he was a league 2 striker, who'd never played in a division higher than league 1, and he'd only played one game in that division.

    Nobody at the time knew if he'd be a flop or not. At the time I think we made a good decision, maybe not the best, but I think signing Davies was a shrewd move, as was Vaz Te, and if situations had been different, who knows where we might have ended up last season.
