I can tell you're angry and I understand why but in my opinion a dangerous dog is the product of a tosspot owner so maybe your anger should be directed to them. The dog probably has no concept that what it is doing is wrong. Like I said, bad owners make my blood boil.

John that was a totally unacceptable response you got from he police. I would take it up with the chief constable.
BTW You drive your car and knock someone down its your fault no the cars.
Same for dogs, your dog attacks someone its the owners responsibility not the dogs.

    Well thats my opinion anyway.

    Totally agree with you Ian.

I love dogs & I grew up in Barnsley near what used to be Raley school & one of my mates was the son of the caretaker.
They had a German Shepherd & it was the kindest dog you ever met. I used to call round for him when i was 9 & the dog would come & put
its paws on my shoulders & lick my face. Scared the holly sh*te out of me the first time, but got me to trust dogs.

There are a lot of chavs near where I live & they use their dogs as weapons & the police don't do sh*t about it.

I've written to the cops this morning but have no faith whatsoever that anything will change.

John all of what you say is not a local problem to you but its a nation wide cancer.
Chavs as you say cowards is what I say using the dog, usually a Staffie as a legal weapon.
Take the dog off them and TBH they would feel powerless. Fkn scum of the earth and unfortunately for us the police and local councils know this but repeatedly do fk all about it.
1-0 to the louts. With the police and councils dismissing this problem it is no wonder this country is going to the dogs. And I meart the pun.

    1) Take a big stick with you and use it to defend your dog. It might not be the alsation's fault but it certainly isn't your dog's.
    2) Get in touch with your local councillor and get him/her to fix up a meet with the local police.

If it's out of control it's also likely to **** all over while its owner 'isn't looking'.

not only a licence in my view too.

they should make it compulsory to have the animal chipped AND insured too. I have 3 dogs all are chipped and all are covered by Petplan. Over £60 a month that's for all 3. I have said licencing should be compulsory for ages, also they ought to have to apply via the RSPCA or a vet or someway in order to get approved for the type of dog they want too. I mean you hear of people having summat like a great dane in a 1 bed flat, bloody ridiculous. When you go to a pet rescue centre they make all kinds of checks to see suitability/ compatability etc.

They should muzzle them and only let them out on leads..........and while they are at it do the same for the dogs!

can never understand some peoples choices in Dogs

to me the prospective owner should closely examine his/hers lifestyle. Size of home etc , exercise facility, their work pattern. The dog no matter what breed or size is a needy thing, not just food and exercise either. A dog has real emotions they need good care both physically and emotionally/mentally. I am fed up of seeing people who have got a dog as a fashion accessory, or because it makes them look hard(or so they think) These people should never be allowed to look after any animal as they have no interst at heart for welfare of said animal be it a goldfish or a Bengal tiger.

the police may not do owt, but RSPCA will mate

    also the local Dog Warden
and you could perhaps have a word with citizens advice, I am nigh on 100% certain they will tell you the Police are well out of order and indeed can and should do summat about it.

something I feel strongly about luvvy

I have 3 dogs 2 Pembroke Corgi's and a Cairn Terrorist. I would give them all my last breath. I think Dobermanns are fantastic as I do with Great Danes. But they are way too big for my way of life. I think that too many owners do not think it through before they get a dog.
