RE: We had no choice to sell I believe

youre spot on, it was 2 years too early for Rory and i really believe he would have been a decent number 9 for us - but with the things that were going on at the club he was probably better away from the club
However along with a few of the other young reds he was reponsible for getting shut of parkin - job well dun

"responsible for getting shut of parkin"

    Can you expand on that?

Of those three the only one that I think deserves some stick is Jon Parkin for his 'assault' on Colgan at Hull. I as sorry to see Rory go think he tried his best but was still learning. Hayes good player - wrong club.

parkin is a talented footballer and if his head was right would have had greater success than 15 minutes a game to rough up the defence.

common knowledge - that the baseball crew ( all the young reds just breaking into or were around the first team ) dropped anchor on parkin to get shut of him.
they all used to go upto locke parke monday afts to play baseball by the way

    RE: Cheers mate

he was a gnats ballack off when we went up - it was a very close call and although its history i believe he would have pushed us on BUT would we have been anybetter off than we are now . The pain barrier we went through at the back end of the ritchie period and the resurection and restructuring under simon davey has been a lengthy and painful process.
players i would have kept : austin - kay ( impossible given the circumstances ) hayes ( i believe the penny would have dropped with him - very talented ) macindoe ( another shame ) mcphail ( chose his own path ) the rest : all needed to be moved out
