Why don't Barnsley have cheap season tickets like Huddersfield/ Bradford?

Its not indisputable at all yoy use other revenue streams to make up the shortfall. Bradford sold 10,000 shirts last year. Costs were covered by other revenue streams. Of course we would have to be a million times better at that sort of stuff.

Wish they would and hindsight is a good thing. Could have bought the old school land and built on it a hotel and restaurant complex (like centre of town has with Premier Inn and Glasshouse). Barry Hearn brings darts here most of the year so with 128 darts players, plus officials etc they probably need around 200 beds. He's bringing English Open snooker here in October (huge boost thanks to Barry for the town when the other three events are taking part in capital cities) that can be used for around the same amount of numbers again plus fans staying over for it. So many huge away followings and especially when far away teams have to stupidly come to us on a tuesday night we could upon proof of purchase of a match ticket for the away end, get a discount so they don't have to go home until wednesday morning.

Bring everything back in house such as catering so no outside ventures can make money off us. Mansford mentioned needing around 18k home sales to make it viable. We could end up with home fans behind both goals and only having to give away supporters half the west stand. We'd make so much money from the feel good factor to sell more shirts, food, increased advertising charges etc. We'd be more likely to attract a better calibre of player as even though we might not be able to offer as much in wages, we can sell the idea of the ground being packed instead of around half empty.

I know loads of "reds fans" over my way.

All had season tickets in the premier league, would have been at Wembley in 2000, 2008 twice in 2016, millennium in 2006 plus Liverpool and Manchester City away in the cup.

Would they take advantage of cheap tickets on a regular basis to watch bread and butter football matches? I doubt it very much.

Surely if it was a no brainer then every club would be doing it?

Not really. Most football clubs finances are on their arses. Hence the whole operating model needs to be reviewed, including player wages and transfer fees. I am in favour of every transfer over 1 million quid to attract somewhere between a 10 to 15% tax. 10% of that would be put into grassroots football. As for the other 5% into public services. It's simply ridiculous the money being thrown around in these transfer windows and it is getting worse. It is not beneficial for football in general, purely the ones at the top of the football pyramid now.
