Why is it DEe Darrs reports on us are..

firstly, radio sheffield is BBC radio sheffield, meaning that it is impartial and has to abide by regulations regarding fairness and equality etc. barnsley fc has over the previous 25 years or so become extremely parochial, and has consequently suffered as a resuly of its failure (and refusal) to allow proper access to outside bodies for the sake of losing a few pennies. this is particularly noticable with merchandising, you can go to meadowhall and buy a sheffield wednesday shirt etc,but not a barnsley one. if barnsley fc want to be part of the wider community then perhaps it should open itself up, become more agreeable in our media age. wasnt our media coverage during the fa cup run extensive, from tv to the times to the sun etc? exceptional achievements demand (and receive) media coversge, mediocrity does not!

 

The media dept at oakwell consists of one bloke,who does everything connected with the football club,maybe the media dept should be enlarged.The radio sheffield embargo was based on bieng treated equally among other champoinship clubs in the area ,i.e. the same money for broadcating and interviewing rights which did not occur, (is radio sheffield a community Radio station and treats everybody equally within the area).
if you listened to radio de dah when asking questions i felt myself that they were always looking at Barnsley matches from the negative view point,(its very easy to find fault in what maybe would have been a good match for Barnsley).When other Teams in the area were not vilified as much.Makes you wonder what the fans on the fringe of coming down to OAKWELL thought of us.
The other side of it is that when we get little outside media coverage ,on more exstensive area wide Radio do we get fogotten about.
