Why is our pitch so bad?

    It isn't just this season. We haven't come close to the snooker table surfaces of the 90s and early noughties for a long while. Can't we get one of those coverings they have for tennis at Wimbledon to cover the whole pitch but it's high enough to walk under it to tend to it when weather is bad.
