Germany just seems to be, "do what you want, just don't act like a dick" it works very well! Drinking in public is legal, still can't get used to that. the Germans find it hilarious when I see the Police and instantly try and conceal my beer :D

same reason you woudlnt like someone juming over your wall and taking a dump on your front lawn. Its not actually going to hurt anyone but its bad form and just spoils it for everyone else that want to enjoy that lawn for the reason its there - in this instance to see the players. Not morons running on thinking its cool.

grow up. If you think you have to run onto the pitch to celebrate the end of the season then there is summert wrong.

4 police officers with alsations ready to set loose to catch the first divs that run on the field ought to curtail it. Woud save a fortune in the grand scheme of things. You run on you take the dog on. Simples.

Just get the police to arrest the first few people they get their hands on. That would stop it.

Lets have four coppers outside redfearns nicking the first four who come out for attempting to enter a sports arena under the influence.

It would be a civil not criminal matter. As we only partially own the land even taking a civil case would be problematic unless the Council also wanted to do so.

Dogs! Nah!! A few dozen of South Yorkshire's finest with..

.... a pocket full of Tazers each at the ready, for the first few that decide to invade the pitch. The writhing and screaming would provide mild entertainment for the rest of us and drown out the booing.

Absolute cnuts who spoil it for the rest of the fans including kids who want to cheer their heroes on a lap of honour.

I cannot believe some of the p*llocks (there! I have said it) on here who condone it or argue that it is somehow OK.

Oh! and YES it IS illegal by the way (Football Offences Act 1991 Section 4) and not just civil law in the same way that trespass on railway property is illegal.

FFS grow up and stay off the pitch.

PS...Actually, stewards and police armed with aerosols with marker dye...

...would be good.. it would ruin the clothes of idiots running onto the pitch so makes it less appealing and they could also use it to identify those same idiots who invaded the pitch after they leave the ground. A big fine and a ban would follow.

The problem is most people who do it know they wont get caught. The stewards can only nab a few at the start but spraying could mark 00's.

All people should stay off the pitch. It spoils it for others. Players want to come out and the fans that want to congratulate the players wont get chance due to generally some spotty chav who should have been a cum stain.

    And people say im irrational.

    Tazers.

    **** me.

It just gets dafter and dafter.

Some folk in this thread really need to get a bit of a grip. They are running about on a bit of sodden grass not mugging old grannies.

If you are honestly getting that wound up about it two days and more before hand i suggest that you give saturday a miss and seek some anger management classes.

Section 4 relates to the duration and termination of banning orders

There is stuff in the provisions of the act relating to when the game is under way. It would stretch it to cover events once the match had finished.

The quick responses seem to be:
"because it's against the rules", which is only an issue if the club/ fans make it one
"Because it ruins it for everyone else" - what does it ruin? This lap of honour? They could find a way of doing that without stopping the fans running onto the pitch.

I don't personally get the big desire to run onto the pitch, but I don't get the uproar about not seeing this lap of honour either.

My point is, there must be a way to just let the fans onto the pitch on the last day and have a lap of honour too.

It shouldn't be an issue at all, but this weekend the same will happen that happens every year

Why should the club find a way to let the fans on the pitch though?

Yes, there will be. and hopefully with justification of something to celebrate.

What I don't get is our annual compulsory invasion even in a mediocre season.

    Err...it wasn't a serious suggestion FFS.

However it IS illegal to go onto the pitch and a few idiots spoil it for everyone else.
