At last 50 yr red nail on head

Liddle & co. had great players to look up to & continue to progress when they broke into the first team. These last few years has seen Academy lads come into the team who are actually better than most of the first team. Basically, there hasn't been anyone to help them continue in their developmeny. lets not forget the Academy's prime aim is to provide BFC with players. Any big money transfers are a bonus (financially)

RE: No, I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case

i think the 300k swansea paid for fallon will be the most anyone pays for him. fair play, i can see where you are coming from in thinking that he is an effective striker in the lower leagues but for me at any rate, he is not a good footballer and swansea made a mistake in paying that much for him in todays market. jon parkin is a different story though - i think he has the potential to be a good player and can not for the life of me see why parkin got rid. he had great presence as a young lad , remember his debut and thinking he looked a decent player. mind you i thought the same think about carl barrowclough in that he looked a very good prospect.

Parkinson was given every chance at the club but had disipline problems.

Sent out on loan twice and sent packing back to Oakwell.

    Correct.

Some thing of a problem child which I wont go into.
I'm sure you know why the club terminated his employment and at the time and the level we were playing at he was deemed not to be good enough.

It's not as if he left us and finished up in the prem.

Has just had his second coaching book published.

We could have a whip round and buy it for our Academy Coaches.

    I'm no judge either

I thought Carl Barrowclough looked to have some fantastic skills. And I genuinely believed Sean McClare was going to be a ******* reight player. I'll also admit to thinking Liddell was absolutely ***** for the first season he played for us.

Wronger than a wrong thing currently high on wrong potion after graduating from wrong school.

If you had been the manager would you have put up with his behavior?

If we had kept him what effect would that have had on club discipline?

At the risk of sounding sycophantic

I have the utmost respect for you and am confident that you'll top "castigate" during a football rant !!:pff
However , there's no chance whatsoever that I'll say "sycophantic" down at Oakwell !!!:D
