    I can't believe anyone would say a bad word about the man

    I remember him saying a few years ago that he didn't want to be chairman, for this exact reason. He didn't want to be the man coming under fire from fans when the going got tough.

    Some will say that he should have appointed a new chairman to deal with this, but he obviously doesn't feel anyone is up to the task of replacing Shepherd yet. I don't think he particularly wants to be chairman and have to deal with times like this, but he knows that if he leaves it to anyone else the whole thing could get a lot worse.

    He's pumped millions into this club and saved us. If it wasn't for him we'd either be bust or League One/Two - I trust his judgement entirely.
