RE: Can't remember but I must have won because you're clearly wrong on both counts. How can you be right, I don't agree with you therefore you are clearly wrong. And you smell.
Yeah..just like the 6k or so who have stood by us... through thick and thin of recent times. Economically, today, Rotherham seems from the outside to be worst off of all South Yorkshire towns...
And let's not forget... the situation re lack of assets at Rotherham is not too dissimilar to our own....we have a club that has only the (relativley) worthless players as assets
Fascist! How can I be a fascist, I'm a priest! Fascists are men who dress up in black and tell people what to do whereas priests are ..... hang on a minute, let me think this through.
I know We entered administration with debts of less than a million pounds, but we owned the largest area of land of any league club, worth absolutely millions. Much of the debt was written off, the rest was paid back at only a small percent in the pound, but now we don't own a bloody thing and I daren't even begin to estimate the amount the club owes. How the hell did that happen? And what will we do in the future if there's another ITV digital? Of all the clubs that have faced difficulties I fear for Rotherham the most, as they simply don't have any assets. A situation that we now somehow find ourselves in.
RE: Allowing "smaller" clubs like Rotherham (or us) to fold No one wants to see clubs go out of business, but if a club is losing a lot of money football fans can't subsidise them for ever. Most of the teams in the Conference are professional these days, so if Rotherham fold there are plenty of teams to take their place in the league. I hope they survive, but it is down to the people of Rotherham to back the team if they want it to carry on.
Yeah... but let's ignore it and let the land get sold off as well.... Let's hope PC never gets bored or that GS and co can get the club running at break even or profit again..cos otherwise....
That's true enough... but by the same logic our club should be gone now as by and large and thanks to great journalism by the Chroic in part, the people of Barnsley did not do enough to "save" BFC. Ultimately there may have been more raised if no buyer had come forward but in the end we relied on one man and his personal fortune. This is not to disparage any efforts made at the time by those that did contribute...
which bits of land did we sell? which bits of land did we sell. i thought they split it in to two companies, the land and the football club, but effectively, cryne and the council still own everything dont they?
Exactly All the land used to belong to the football club. Now the football club has totaly been stripped of its assets. All the land is owned by Oakwell Community Assets limited, which is entirely seperate from BFC.
