I’m not quite into this no ‘plan B’ theory, not in this league anyway. Pep, at Man City gets to rotate 22 world class players weekly. Meanwhile, down here in League One, we have maybe 5 ‘quite good’ players, maybe 5 ‘good’ players and the rest of the squad made up of bang average players for this division. The best ‘plan B’, I believe he can offer is to bench our top scorer and fetch his fresh legs on against their tired legs. He did, it didn’t work. What else could he try with this limited League One squad?
Awful performance. Whether it was worth a boo or not, that is the worse two home games we’ve had this season as a double. A lot of fans can’t make us struggle to beat Carlisle midweek so have to put up with these mediocre performances. Horrendous. Won’t get anywhere near Wembley never mind promotion.
Quite right. What do you think he could have done with this limited squad? Player a better player out of position, or bring a League One standard player on and hope he shakes things up a bit? (Which is what he did, incidentally) We’re top six with a really average squad. We’ve dropped two points against a poor team. And, as frustrating as it is, I genuinely don’t know what else he could have tried. Cotter to add some threat from the wing or long throws? Cole, and fresh legs to pose a threat to tired defenders? He tried that. It failed. We haven’t got Jack Grealish on the bench…just Aiden Marsh and co.
ESL. It was very loud and clear. Surprised you couldn't hear when it happened in your stand I'm sure when it's popped on iFollow people will confirm it.
And Devante has been really poor for a while now hasn't he, so I think that was a correct and certainly 'brave' decision by Collins.
Neither did I, but I won’t call others for doing it AFTER THE GAME. Take the plaudits, but also take the criticism.
Probably because we don’t have a single person on the field or off it it with a winner’s mentality of “f*** this, we”re better than them, let’s have a go”. It’s all just coaching manual 1.01, no plan B. Let’s be honest, the home games have for the most part been pretty dreadful all season. We’ve blown automatics today and genuinely, does anyone think we have enough in the tank to beat a Bolton / Derby / Peterborough, even Lincoln over the play offs? I’d love to think we had, but at what point have shown anything like?.. Where are the winners in our squad / club who are going to stand up & be counted...
We didn’t though. We moved O’Keefe to LWB and Williams at RCB and put Cotter at RWB. We changed nothing at all formation wise. Connell took russels position, Grant filled in for him and nothing changed with Phillips. We had made it easy for Cheltenham cos they knew our patterns of attack from about 15 mins in. Tired legs. He brought Cole on after 55 mins
Also that some people booed a second time when the players came over to clap. Booing at the final whistle is frustration/disappointment that the game has ended and we didn’t score. Booing five minutes later isn’t getting caught up in the emotion at that moment.
Agree with that I didn’t boo at full time and shuffled off right on final whistle. Don’t really understand what booing achieves really (each to their own and all that)
