Why was Winnall booed when he came on?

    I can't give you names.

    You want NI numbers?

East stand lower towards corner stand.

    You have an alternative opinion?

I did too. I'm in the top corner of the Ponty, by the West Stand, and it was very loud around me.

I heard it int Ponty. Didn't understand it though. But assumed it was fans thinking Toney was the wrong laiker withdrawn. Maybe they thought there were more suitable candidates to come off? Watkins, Isgrove, Pearson were all *****.

It was for the wrong substitution being made(in the fans eyes)
In my view it should've been Watkins/ Isgrove off, either/or on the wing & Winnall upfront with Toney
We've winced found out that Toney hasn't been well & needed to come off

They were booing the substitution of Toney off, who for me looked our best chance of scoring a goal. Very good in the air, and caused them problems in the first half. I don't think anyone would disagree that it was time for one of Winnall, Smith or Jackson to come on, but I would have liked to have seen him replace Isgrove.

I always find it strange when we boo when a player is leaving the field. If he misconstrues that to be about himself, it could shatter the lads confidence. After all he's only a young lad. If you're unsure who was getting booed, you'd like to think the player may also be unsure.

Toney was our best player by a country mile at that point. LJ isn't helping himself. Won everything in the air. As opposed to Michael Smith, who's 6'4" and wins **** all

He's made it impossible to defend him anymore mate, I think he's ran out of ideas now and doesn't know how to turn it around.

Most around me wanted Isgrove off. Not that either had done much wrong but Isgrove didn't create much and we know Marley has contributed alongside Conor to the most assists so far.

I think we played ok. One of the things I noticed is that on at least two occasions both Watkins and Toney made the same run when we were in a good position wide; fist half both made the run into the 6 yard box and the ball was cut back to the penalty spot (think Isgrove cut it back), in the second half they both went to the near post and the ball was stood up towards the back post. On Tuesday Toney and Jackson seemed to make complementary runs giving people crosses/passes more options. I think Winall and Toney would be a good pairing.

It's not impossible, just very difficult. :)

Rather than running out of ideas in November, I think he ran out of good players in the summer when we failed to offer new contracts to Ramage and Cranie (or recruit an experienced centre half to replace them), failed in our negotiations with Holgate and sold him to Everton, allowed Turnbull to move to Leeds and Berry to Cambridge, and released Bailey and Lalkovic, to replace them all with a bunch of kids, mostly on loan. We turned a mid-table squad, two or three players short of a team capable of challenging for promotion, in to a squad of players that had relegation written all over it before we even kicked a ball. Johnson's ideas are clearly not everyone's cup of tea, but he could have the imagination of Albert Einstein and we'd still be struggling in the bottom half of the division.

When Ben Mansford took to Radio Sheffield in February to explain the sacking of Danny Wilson, he told us that our position in the table was unacceptable for a club with a top 6 budget, top 6 attendances, top 6 season ticket holders and top 6 contributions from a benefactor. Maybe so, although the fact that we were as close to the play-offs, in terms of points, as we were to the relegation places appeared to have escaped his attention. There's one thing for certain, it wasn't anywhere near as unacceptable as the squad we put together in the summer on a budget the club were bragging about only a few months earlier and used to justify the sacking of a good man and very capable manager. As the club don't trust me with the knowledge of how our recruitment policy works, then I feel justified in saying that I don't believe it's all down to our head coach. If it was, I reckon we might call him manager.

That may not be the best defence in the world, there's no doubt some of the tactics this year haven't helped us, but if the tools you've got at your disposal just aren't up to it, and you didn't buy those tools...

Tools. At least I got that bit right. Still appealing for that free kick Ben?

The same comments were made about the runs of the forwards around us. Maybe by JLWBL, but I don't want to inflate his ego any further. He'll start telling me he has the same pov as a professor.

I took it to mean ***** like Watkins should have come off, especially when he was started ahead of Jackson for some inexplicable reason

Isgrove should have come off yesterday, I genuinely forgot he was on the pitch for a good half hour. Watkins should have gone out wide where he's put his best performances in for us. Winnall up front with Toney.

Now LJ tells us Toney had been ill for a couple of days, but he still looked lively enough to me.

The inexplicable reason has been said many times. Alongside Hourihane he has created most chances / assists. Play him to his strengths and he will contribute. But don't let the facts get in the way of an opinion. Everyone has one.

Fully agree, why not play Jackson earlier or start him if Toney has been under the weather.
