As soon as I saw the name I thought it was a parody account.

Maybe it’s Joan Wilder (see Romancing the Stone)

I don't think it is a troll post. Whether it turns out to be true or not is another question, but I heard similar (that he had been told the job is his - not specifically that he'd signed) at around the same time. It may well be fake news or someone deliberately making it up but I don't think it was the OP. I'm fairly certain they were just sharing information they had been given in good faith

Nothing to add other than wait and see. The guy who told me hadn't been wrong before with info I hadn't shared and as a few have said in this thread they were given the same information around a similiar time, likely from the same person.

I'm not a Wednesday fan or a wum, I've been viewing this site for a good 15 years

I wasn't looking to cause any harm to the club etc I simply believed the info to be spot on but obviously it's past the weekend now so part of the info has turned out to be not true.

Can only apologiee if it does turn out not to be true, lesson learned on my part I thought I was sharing factual information with the message board ahead of an imminent announcement.

I'll happily take a ban for any issues caused, as others have said I've not been a regular poster and will continue to read the board when I can as I do enjoy it

Appreciate the update. I'm extremely sceptical that Wilder has signed or will sign, but we'll have to wait and see.

Edit: and don't be silly re. a ban. You're reporting what you've said you've heard from a reputedly reliable source. Was just wary there'd been no update from anyone anywhere on the subject.

Don't be silly , ban hey no.
You have certainly created a bit of interest with the post.
I certainly think there's no smoke without fire.
However I think Wilders demands might be too much for our board to accept.
If that is the case , they are in charge to make the decisions and I will support the board.
Especially what they have achieved in the last 18 months.
It wasn't all down to Duffy tha knows

If it's Devaney sadly there will be some disappointment from quite a few BBS posters..firstly it means we've asked others and they've turned us down or they've applied and then their demands have been an issue..also if it is Martin he'll be aware that he's not first choice and is the fall back option.
I would also think he would weigh his current long term role against getting sacked at some point .., ( They all do eventually) as he would be out of the club...Obviously if he had been 1st on the list this would have been settled by now. but as many have said we'll have to wait and see.

You'd be daft to take it if you were Devaney.

If we've asked others and they've turned us down it could be our demands that were the issue ? Over committing to kids might not get instant results.
