I would have thought a Coach worth his salt and with a bit of know how should be able to get us climbing up the table. It’s not as if we’ve got a bad squad is it. Just needs some structure, organisation and a PLAN. Preferably A & B

Revisionism; it’s absolutely nuts how yesterday’s heroes become garbage in order to support an agenda.

Stendel’s job was to get us promoted, he achieved it, but failed the next season. Whether that’s because he was rubbish or because he didn’t get what he needed to push on, no one will ever know.

Struber took on a team facing relegation and saved us. Again failed the next season. And again, no one will ever know the detail.

Ismael was tasked with a top half finish and managed the playoffs. And when he left, he left the club in chaos (some of it of his own making).

All of them achieved their goals, but if we’re pointing fingers at people who failed the club, I’m pointing at Ismael.

Struber didn’t save us. On results we got relegated. The dodgy fuckers at Wigan saved us.

Not supporting any agenda and none of them were heroes, not to me anyway. Yes Stendal achieved Promotion but it’s just my view on our previous appointments. Other than our Promotion season under Stendal, none of our aforementioned Coaches have had us playing decent, free flowing football. Something we are more than capable of doing. Val’s hoof ball may have not been easy on the eye, but he got results & played to the strengths of the squad at the time. At least the player’s knew their roles. The standard of the Championship IMO over the past couple of seasons has been piss poor TBH and we should be more than capable of attaining at least a mid-table finish.

Morais almost kept us up against all odds with us only going down on the final day. Had we won that match he would have been deemed a success and been there the following season.

Stendel got us promoted back to the level we should be at as a minimum with one of our best ever squads to watch, that were a pleasure on the eye.

Struber did a miracle great escape that made us two million in compo.

Val gave us one of our best ever league positions and made us another two million in compo.

Schopp failed not helped by injuries, visas and covid. If from match 1 he had Andersen, Morris, Oulare, Iseka and Benson all fully fit it might have been different. Even Val would have struggled this season with the bad luck we have had.

I reckon on a whole appointments have been pretty successful since the 80% have been here.

Morais almost kept us up…. But didn’t
Stendal had arguably the best squad in L1, nonetheless exilerating football to watch. Won the opening game against Fulham then nothing at all after that.
Struber…. Due to Wigan’s wrong doings we stayed up.
Val, over achieved, played hoof ball. Not easy on the eye but got desired results. Got the boys organised and playing for each other. Jumped ship for more money presumably. Can’t blame him.
Schopp, irrespective of injuries, visa’s or whatever else was a factor. Anyone with the record he had whilst with us deserves to go. A coach at any other club with that record would’ve been long gone.
He may have been a decent bloke, but he was terrible.

    Opinions eh…

I completely disagree about the Championship be piss poor. The amount of money in the Premier League has filled it with the best players in the world. As a result, talent that would have otherwise been in the top flight gets pushed down the chain. Money filters down as well, through parachute money and other means. Even mediocre championship clubs can attract players from top clubs in middling European leagues, even if they are playing for teams who qualify for Europe most seasons. The Championship is stronger than it has ever been, and will only continue getting stronger while ever the Premier League carries such global clout.

Fair enough, that’s your view. I just think the standard of the team’s aren’t half as strong as they used to be. Yes, there’ll always be the usual ones pushing for the top places, those with parachute payments and money to spend. But we were one of those teams last season weren’t we? The amount of games we’ve watched, even this season and thought that the opposition looked poor/played crap etc. If we’d have had a Coach with half a clue, we wouldn’t be sitting where we are now.
    Anyway, onwards and upwards.
