Are we having a change of heart re the plan.. Could it be the start of an older spine surrounded by young uns..... Cloughess lol
I would support us not paying that level of wages to a player but we have no idea what his wage demands would be.
I can't see this myself. Having him training with the youngsters makes perfect sense though. I'm sure a "big club" like Wendy will come in for him. Good on the club getting him to train with us, assuming this is true, as I've not heard anything about it myself.
Man City payed 25million for him and Swansea payed 12 million for him so I would imagine his wages would have reflected his value.
Just been checking and Bony was on 130 k a week at Man.City and 4.5 million a year at Swansea. He's only 31 so I would imagine his wage demands would be out of most Championship clubs.Apart from Derby,Reading,Sheff.Wed. and any other club who cheat there way through football.
No way will the Fowls be agreeing a £90k week deal with anyone. They’re in a complete financial mess as it is!
It depends how much he wants to get back into English football but my point wasn't about Bony exclusively, it was about the kind of players we will be looking to bring in during January. Bony, regardless of his wages, isn't likely to be on our radar unless we change our recruitment plan.
According to an interview that was published yesterday on the athletic, Bony hasn't been training with us at all but he has been training at Newport Countys ground all season because its 30 minutes from his house. Another story that turned out to be false.
Surely 90k would make him one of the highest earners in Championship? According to this which admittedly is a couple of years old SW average is £15k. https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?...kly-wage-in-the-championship/#comment-1797676
