Would rather have Waring back at least we knew he can perform in this league look at Wilkinsons record his hardly done owt. 28 apps and 4 goals in the past two years at 4 different clubs.
Agree mate, that's what I was swaying too in my comment. Rather have a player with a better attitude than someone who is maybe a slightly better player but stinks everyday he comes into training.
Oldham fan on Twitter says he's big and strong and can run but doesn't score much and hopes we get him as no danger of scoring past them. Sounds like another Ibhere (SP?)
Maybe best not to judge people on the basis of media reports, social or otherwise. LJ best placed to judge whether he will fit into the group having worked with him before.
28 apps 4 goals. Nothing glowing about that. Doesn't matter who it is I wouldn't be too excited at the prospect of any player signing unless it's a defender.
What if we were to sign wilkinson and waring on loan... If not an rumours are true we could get spencer and wilkinson.
Just spoke with a mate who's a Olham fan. rates him highly. Big lad but very mobile according to him. LJ himself stated when we got Ibhere and Waring that he likes two big lads in his squad.
Is he a defender up front, or does he try getting in goal scoring positions ? His scoring record doesn't look too good but if he's a defensive striker, he should really be judged on his ability to defend up front
First 29 games, 2 goals First 17 games. 3 goals First 43 games, 8 goals Trevor Aylott, Ashley Ward and Neil Shipperley.
My take is that he can use our club to get regular football and put himself in the shop window hoping someone will come in and meet his demands.
I still think we will try for Waring, even if we do land Wilkinson. George seemed to enjoy his time with us; his development in that time will have earned him the new contract with Stoke; he is unlikely to get a squad number with the Potters this season, so he is likely to be offered for season-long loan again and I would think we would be in the queue and that George would be keen to come and continue his development with us. Wilkinson and Waring? Could be a potent combination. Would seriously like to see it happen.
For me it shouldn't even be an option. All it does is puts the club back a year in this position as in 12 months time he's in the bin and we're trying again to replace him. That's if he doesn't leave in January It amazes me that football clubs haven't worked out that loans are killing them
