Lifted this from a lad who posts on tykes talk on Facebook…

    .
Paul Conway walks past me every match around 30minutes before kick off and today I just couldn't allow it without asking questions .
Nice guy very honest in his answers but unfortunately for everyone the answers were not what we would want. Schopp will be here for the foreseeable although nothing is ever ruled out .
He did explain if schopp went it would need to be an upgrade and that at the moment they cannot realistically find anyone of the calibre that would be willing to come in on our budget , work with young players and have zero say in transfers .
When questioned about our change in play why we have lost the high intensity pressing he blamed the change in 5 to 3 subs as to why the style has changed. He said we have too many 60 minute players and with only 3 subs it makes it had to play that way.
Worst thing was he actually sympathised with schopp due to injuries , when I mentioned I have never known such mass crowd all wanting schopp to get chopped and the fact fans are now turning against the board ect he understood but said it is something as owners we just have to deal with.
Long story short I cannot see schopp getting booted yet but they are always looking for options from abroad

Morais was contractual and agreed prior to joining so an easy one to announce as no negotiations needed.

I thought Stendel was completely shocked and surprised when he was sacked at Oakwell on the Monday/Tuesday?

Morais may have been contractual due to relegation, but they didn't stand on ceremony did they?

And thought it had become common knowledge Stendel was sacked in front of the players boarding the coach?

The Stendel one is new to me. It didn't hit the news until the Tuesday I don't think.

It's easy not to stand on ceremony when you've got zero negotiations to do and all parties are aligned - lose this match/get relegated and you're off. We lose the match/get relegated so announce that he's off. Don't think it's a fair comparison, and we'd also need to be thinking about who takes over in the interim unlike back then.

Following the logic of our CEO, relegation is a secondary consideration to the overarching priority of generating value and profit from player trading.

So, in priority terms, spending money to sack an inept head coach and recruit a competent one is a sub-optimal decision compared to keeping him and ensuring we end up in League 1 next season.

This is what our club has become, and its heartbreaking to witness it.

My point is they've acted fast in the two examples to date. I suspect when Schopp is eventually sacked, it will also be swift.

And all despite Schopp, not because of him. Same goes for that first half at QPR and any other moments of quality we've had this season; times when the players have taken it upon themselves to give it a crack because they've had nothing from the 'manager'.

It matters not who starts - there would still be 10 outfield players without any real idea of what the plan is, or what they should be doing.

The new CEO is a clown. Says he’s not even worried about relegation then goes on about players needing to be sold and performances on the pitch comes second choice. He’s part of the new problem.

While I don't believe that Conway conducts interviews with people that he just walks past on his way to the ground, I can believe that Schopp will be surviving for the reasons stated.

Nobody actually thinks that Schopp can turn it around, the players don't, the fans don't, and I doubt the board or Schopp himself think he'll turn it around. He's just keeping the job because there's nobody else to do it.

Bristol City haven't won at home for 16 games (6 draws and 10 defeats), the longest run in their history. Oh dear oh dear, I can imagine Jeff Stelling excitedly saying they're about to break that run.......

The dumb thing is though any competent CEO would be fully aware that a relegation to League 1 is extremely sub optimal for generating profit from player sales and the marginal cost of paying up the contract termination clause in Schopps contract is not a serious consideration unless you think we are going down no matter who is in charge. Any cost benefit analysis would show avoiding paying the compensation is a bad idea financially.

I don't believe the 2 late goals yesterday had any bearing on things, had we not scored them the clubs position on schopp wold be the same
The only reason I can think of for keeping him is they have no idea what to do as they have exhausted their supply of Austrian managers due to Brexit, making its impossible to bring managers and coaches over like we did before. And the likes of Adam Murray who could have done a caretaker job for a few weeks are all gone. There is no plan B

What has happened in this club since the Playoffs last season is unbelivably bad - I think only going into Administration comes close for how badly things could go wrong

You mean the 2 goals we scored when Sheff U took their foot off the gas in preperation for the next game.

We need to remember though that the CEO hasn't even hinted that we're ok with relegation as a club or that we're willing to sacrifice success on the pitch for player values. Those dots have been correctly or incorrectly joined up by us the supporters, depending on how you interpreted that one stand alone comment.

Well he did say he doesnt fear relegation - not sure how to take that does he mean he doesnt think it will happen? if so Id say its a certainty if we dont change the Head Coach
or does he mean he doesnt really care if we go down - in which case its seems a very strange position to take
The fact he made the comment about player values to Giddings at all doesnt inspire confidence in his judgement - it was a bit Ratneresque.

I am genuinely puzzled as to the reason Schopp is still in charge though

Morais had it written into his contract that he would be fired if he didn't keep us up, which is why he was dismissed immediately after the Derby debacle.
