I think he us keeping his job because the contract is 3 years and we would have to shell out a decent fee to get shut. I do think a change of manager would bring a change of fortunes the blokes totally clueless and lost the dressing room, players have lost belief and confidence but are better than 8 points. Look at when flicker too over a little tweak and alot of chest pumping and things turned round fast.
Can we just assume he's not going anywhere until it is announced that he's left. These repeat threads are getting a bit tedious. For the record, I think he should be sacked.
Surely saying you don't fear relegation is more about being confident we'll stay up? Rather than saying we don't care or aren't aware of the financial implications? Definitely how I interpreted it. Similar to if you asked any of the Premier League managers right now, they'd say they don't fear it as it puts confidence in the players to turn performances around. It's obviously not working, but you could go back to Struber and Murphy who repeatedly said they weren't worried about us being relegated and that we'd stay up.
If his comment was that he doesn't fear relegation I'd in no way interpret as him being happy to be relegated, indifferent or sees it as an actual advantage. I'm sure he doesn't want us to get relegated. However, i would interpret it in two other ways.... He's making an empty statement of bravado that is so full of hot air that it's an insult to the fans by assuming they can be deflected from the reality of our situation. Or, he really believes we can't go down which shows a staggering lack of insight into how bad things have become on the playing side. Neither is a good look.
It's literally no different to Struber and Murphy giving us the same soundbites two seasons ago. It's just that there's a lot more animosity right now towards the club, and rightly so, therefore it doesn't land in the same way. Difference is they were saying that when we really did look dead and buried in the relegation places. Rather than when we've got 90 points still to play for.
Yes I assume he meant he wasn't worried about the possibility - and to be honest he needs to be careful about how he answers that sort of question anyway - if he said he was terrified it might happen thats not a good look either . I wasnt worried about the possibility a few games ago - I am now though and every game Schopp stays in charge it makes it more likely
I'm worried. But I'd also be worried if the club were admitting they were worried too. They've got to put on a united front so early in the season saying they believe in the players, the staff, and the plan. I don't take offence at the CEO being positive like that - we've heard similar before in the many relegation scraps we've had. This just gets scrutinised by everyone because of the car crash that is this season.
You're right, we do. That 90 points is dwindling rapidly though. I fear it will be too late before they act.
I think if the head-coach model you choose pays you a mighty fine compo fee should WBA and the likes come knocking, then you have to hold your hands up and accept you have to pay out if the appointment doesn't work out. Especially whilst we are on this change-coach-every-season cycle.
Agree its been obvious for some time he is out of his depth, unfortunately some have made excuses for him. He should have gone a while back.
