Ah yes, very important they look tough rather than their usual immoral, corrupt and uncaring.

I genuinely believe a central minister could do absolutely anything in a Johnson government and would never have to resign. Well, aside from tell the truth or highlight how shockingly woeful the current PM is.

Done the media round this morning claiming

A...we should be thanking him and his team

B...there was no shortage of PPE

C...the reason publication was delayed was because he and his team were working 24/7 sourcing PPE due (I'm guessing here) to there being a shortage o_O

Just watched the video Dreamboy posted, he never said the first two.
He said his team (not himself)
And said no National shortage, which some would rightly say is a politicians answer, but he did also acknowledge isolated shortages.

Within 45 seconds he has said "Very, very serious problems accessing PPE and some people were going without". That says a shortage to me and just because he keeps claiming there was no national shortage he has already admitted there wasn't enough....ie...a shortage.

It's like me saying I'm skint but I'm not realy as there is 10 Bob down the back of the settee.

Seeing as this government and it's supportive media constantly reimagine the past it's all the more important to remind each other just what happened.

There were daily cries for PPE from hospitals to the point where secondary care was excluded, care homes especially. Local businesses who couldn't do anything else started volunteering to make PPE. We had the flight from Turkey shambles. Which cost a huge amount and then large amounts failed safety standards.

There were images and stories of nurses and doctors wearing PPE multiple times. Even the shocking image of one hospital who had resorted to wearing bin liners.

We had dozens of contracts amounting to billions of pounds gifted without tender to companies with friends, donors and even MPs of the Conservative party.

It emerged from prior reports and tests that our stockpile of PPE was seriously inadequate and the warehouses where such items were due to be stored had been sold and outsourced and were said to be largely empty, and some items hugely out of date.

    And thats just PPE.

Don't let them reengineer the past to something much less shocking. Remember.
