The Crynes and BMBC since becoming joint owners have simply failed to invest in the necessary maintenance to keep the ground at a decent standard. I am sorry that people don't like that, but it is a clear fact.
I went to the last match and I went to one in the 70s when the Football League played some other League. To be honest, the 70s game was well run with traffic control at the Grove Street/ Ponty Rd junction and again at the Oakwell Lane/ Ponty Rd junction.. Last game was just a free for all regarding traffic. They had sold out of refreshments a good 30 minutes before kick off with none available at half time. Leaving the ground was chaos with no traffic control along Ponty Rd.
We are really in a sorry state which I can't see getting any better anytime soon. We have owners who don't care and we are stuck with them for the foreseeable future. The ground is half owned by the council so that means nothing is going to be improved at Oakwell. Also the council have made accessing Oakwell harder for the last few years with the bridge malarkey. We have a CEO which since he has been here has given us 'flat bread' and nothing else, no improvement on the catering side of things which should be quite a simple fix in the grand scheme of things. It pains me to say that things will get worse and in the very distant future may get better but let's judge the owners by their actions and so far it's not a bright looking future.
