RE: Centre Half......... Kay and Reid

Reight what you said about Atkinson, may just want another season
Kay and Reid, I think these are doing OK
But.....you can quarentee Reid will be out injured before the end of the season
And
Kay will be sent off at least twice during the season
If these two are out at the same time..........then what!!!
Do we patch it up by playing full backs in those positions
We did last season but weaknesses can be easily exploited in the Championship
We had experience of this on Setdi

You are right

But you have to look at who we could attract. What we are offering is a back up Centre Back role and you can't attract much quality with no guarantee of first team football.

We might just have to make do- Togwell can play CB, we have Healy to move into midfield. The real problem as you said will come when both Reid and Kay are out. If that happens we'll be in desperate need of cover. Hopefully this will only happen with the window is open for loanees!

Why would we offer a back up centre back role?

Shouldn't we be looking for better than what we've already got. Or are we saying that Reid and Kay are the best we could ever hope to get?

RE: Why would we offer a back up centre back role?

Fair point- but we'd have to spend some to get better than those two- and I'm not seeing anything from BFC to make me believe that we will be spending money on new defenders.

So I'm guessing that anyone we got would be as backup and relatively unproven- but I could certainly be wrong.

Midfield??

what if howard and togwell get injured/suspended we will have to play Healy and NICKY WROE so we defently need to sign a half decent midfielder for cover

At LEAST a defender

Having said that, I'm not blaming the defence for the recent glut of goals we have conceded. I think that is more down to the way we are playing - that may well change in the longer term.

I just feel the defence is almost picking itself at the moment.

To honest, we are prety thin on the ground in all positions (except maybe center forward). At least Nads ought to be returning to action shortly. If Paul Hayes leaves I hope AR has someone else lined up pretty sharply.

Would be nice. Centre half top priority followed by a striker if we're really lucky. But to be honest there's not a cat in hell's chance of either.
