Will we ever see a top player for more than 100 games again?

Nobody opens a shop and says "I know what i'm selling is crap but if you come and buy it off me i'll be able to stock better quality"

I think you're spot on Dyson which is even more reason to get them on long contracts and get real value for them. We should be reaping the benefits of the hard work we put into their development not the premier league vultures.

I really don't see the problem with developing players (from our own youth set up or by picking up young players elsewhere) and selling them on to sustain the club. It's a viable business model and we can still achieve success using that model. What we do need is a good team of scouts who can pick up bargains and talented youth. Indeed if BFC get a reputation as a club where young players will be given the chance to play first team football, develop/improve and move on to bigger glamour clubs when the opportunity arises, then we may see an improvement of the overall quality of our team as better youngsters choose us other other clubs. On a different scale it works for Ajax and Lyon.

    The potential is there.

I doubt many people would not agree that if we were in the Prem we'd almost (if not deffinately) sell out every week

In these times and at football's currents prices, l'm not too sure. Bit different back in 1997, no recession and folk had money. You only have to look back at the Man Utd game a couple of year ago and we only sold just over 13,000 home tickets, that would have probably sold out back in 97 even though it was a league cup tie. Different time, different era and folk are on their arses. Sure we'd possibly sell out a few of the top games but a home game against Southampton at £30 a pop, l wouldn't be so sure.

After seeing the prices of some of the Premiership games Emirates etc l wouldn't get to many aways anyway, l did the majority of the prem aways back in 97, after my intial self imposed ban on away games after a load of new faces and bandwagon fans turned up!
