I'm thinking of trying Linux on an old machine. I did try make a Chromebook and was very impressed. Wasn't always a fan of web-based stuff but the Chromebook was great. All stuff saved by default to photos / drive etc, and if I wanted MS for my work stuff then my O365 tenant was just a browse away. Web based Office worked just fine.
Well, it (Windows 11) has just been offered to me on this PC. It's now done its usual "downloading - 0%"". We'll see if it actually downloaded, never minds installs, before I set off for the 1230pm misery aka kick off..
Using Windows 11 for a while now, and the three main issues I have . - Scroll bars too narrow on some windows [by default] - ALT+TAB doesn't clearly show which window you are selecting [by default] - and the biggie. You can un combine items in the task bar often meaning extra clicks - more clicks for just about everything which was easier to find in Windows 98 - typing a post on a BBS thread and a pop up happening taking you off the window that you were in - the alert when you unplug from the battery (on a laptop). OK more than three, but annoying none the less.
Well I thought I'd wait until Windows contacted me instead of diving straight in (recommended) so updating & installing now, hope it's as good as Windows10.
