But these things also let him down at times last season at League 1 level - He was so frustrating at slowing down / stopping numerous attacks with poor control, indecision and giving the ball away! He should have had 30-35 goals last season with the amount of sitters he missed! Just don't think he's got the quality to play at this level but time will tell!
I agree mate and if we had a one on one I would still put Winnall in front of it if I had a choice but can you be worthy of a starting spot if your first touch and passing lets you down? For me, no because we have others who can do those things and have shown they can finish. He's definitley playing for his place this year and I hope it kicks him into life because i'd love to be wrong after the memories he gave me last season.
Plenty of us said he probably won't make it in the championship but let's hope he makes us eat our words. Outside of goals he brings little else to the team. So when he doesn't score he becomes a luxury type player we can't afford to play. Missed another poor header today and that happens quite often. Brilliant servant for us but not willing to talk a new contract with us could end up biting him on the arse if it ends up with him changing his mind but us no longer being interested in doing that as what should be our 4th choice striker based on current form.
I agree he's been fantastic and don't get me wrong I would certainly not complain if he started every game for the rest of the season, but I'm just going on what I've seen recently, and Armstrong and Bradshaw can certainly form an excellent partnership. We've got so many good attacking players, it's annoying but someone's got to miss out. If only Marley could be our 12th player
Yeah it is something we are only just getting used to, having so many good attacking players. Long may it continue mate.
