Good shout with carhartt,Got a camo winter parka,it's knocking on 10 years old now and still looks mint, warmest coit I've ever had.
Depends what your looking for mate, I've always been a massive fan of all things Massimo Osti but SI is going slightly down hill, CPs prices are only gonna keep rising but you can drop on some excellent pieces of Ma Strum in Frank Birds or Van Millert. But a cheaper option for a smashing long lasting jacket is Penfield.
Belstaff antique trophy with inner, be careful on the net though, loads of snides. CP winter range is *****.
Layering, it's all about the layering. Just get a good quality breathable rainproof outer shell with space to put some warm clothes underneath.
Those coats, and the various cheaper versions people have, are disgusting. Can't help but mutter w@nker whenever I see someone in one.
anyone recommending owt that doesn't make you look like one of the chavs in the corner of the ponty?!
To be fair, some of the proper stuff is really nice. Proper quality. The problem is that it's been given a bad name by proper, proper nob heads.
Napapijri use down in their coats and it comes from sources such as the ones shown in this video http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o5zCsVVyJHQ People should be aware incase they would rather not buy anymore. North Face are also support this cruelty by using down from these sources in Eastern Europe
Some nice stuff on here http://www.80scasualclassics.co.uk/p0/jackets-and-coats/312930.htm and reasonably priced. Still like CP and Stone Island winter coats but as others have said too many scroats wearing them.
