In the same series the leading England wicket taker was Andrew Flintoff, with 24.

I love him. But genius and playing people for fun he isn't. Trust me. The lad is serious and fair play to him for having an opinion, unlike some.

What on earth are you talking about man?

Here are Warne's stats, unfiltered are his whole career and filtered are vs England.

    http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en...n=1;template=results;type=allround;view=match

If you can't be arsed to click the link, he played 36 Ashes tests vs England and took 195 wickets at an average of 23.25 including 11 5-fers.

In the 2005 Ashes he took 40 wickets in 5 tests at an average of 19.92. His innings by innings figures were 2/19, 4/64, 4/116, 6/46, 4/99, 0/74, 4/102, 4/31, 6/122 and 6/124. He had one 'bad' innings in 10, I think that's disproved your point!

    Read my comment.

People like to get on at my comments. Ok so what.

I never said he was a bad bowler. He's a very good bowler but the current England players would prefer him to Ajmal.

They can not play him. in the UAE he ripped them apart game after game. I think it was Swann who said they were guessing at which way the ball would go. Guessing.

    Just had a look.
Three test 24 wickets. That's ok to say he got each wicket at less than 15 runs. If it wasn't or there other spinner who piggy packed on the back or Ajmal's fear he would have got more. Rehman got 19 at less than 17 runs per wicket.

Warnes figures are good, Them figures are what give them English Batsman nightmares.

And that's why i say they prefer a leg spinner to a mystery and a left arm orthodox

Ask gatting about shane warne - he could get the ball to turn in most conditions. Can't argue his figures - easier to get the ball to turn in uae

Again i'm not saying he couldn't but still Ajmal courses the ENGLAND batsmen more problems and that's why i would say the batsmen would choose to play Warne over Ajmal.

Just been reading that KP vs Warne, KP AVG almost 62 against him before each dismissal. Which we all know his above KP's average of almost 50.

They would now but I doubt they would have been able to play Warne in his prime - had the pleasure of seeing warne at headingly in his prime - amazing what he could do on a flat pitch with no life

Just watching that. Someones posted ''He cant speak english and the English cant understand his bowling.''

i think it's harsh because he can speak English. But it's true they haven't a scooby about his bowling.

teesra, i don't think the baters know what that his now never mind when first facing him.

He did well in a 3 match series, Warne did well for 15 years. Ajmal averages 29 in England in 3 tests vs Warne's 21.94 in 20 tests. I know who I'd rather face.

Most ridiculous argument ive ever read. Comparing a 15 year career from arguably the best spinner ever in any condition to a three match series in the arab emirates on a turning wicket against a set of batsman who are poor on a turning wicket. Classic. Cannot educate pork.

I'm just going in with stats that can't be argued with, I'm sure HT will find a way.
