I've been fairly critical of Danny at times. I just don't go on and on about it, and I still retain the faith and the patience required for what we all knew would be more than a quick fix. I wouldn't say that equates to what you suggested. Were it any other manager, I'd be hoping for the same time/patience. We can't keep chopping and changing.
Sorry Mr Whitey but if its not working then a change is the only answer whether one likes it or not, unless you enjoy watching ****, but I will bow to your superior Knowledge and posting power because as we all know that your opinion is always correct.
So I guess we lose match then we sack the manager if change is the only answer. The shrill voice of a few posters on here gets very old.
No we lose a considerable amount of matches, play poor football, plummet down the league yet remain satisfied that progress is being made. That's Fine if people are happy with it, but if the club want to attract more supporters and show more ambition, the current situation i'm afraid will do exactly the opposite.
People are fine with it (see the polls on here) they recognise we are rebuilding and this is not a route for instant success. Others didn't want the manager from the start so use every opportunity to snipe it's as simple as that.
The poll on here involved 100 to 150 people not 5000. Hardly a ringing endorsement. A manager stands or falls by results on the field of play irrespective of who he is, whether people like him, dislike him or are not fussed either way. Its the way of the game like it or loathe it. Its as simple as that and always has been. Results are KING
I think the mistake Wilson is making is believing young players will bring other players on - they don't . We are lacking a couple of experienced players. However I am a Wilson supporter - But I feel we should stop going on about re-building. When the team does well (occasionally!) we never talk of re-building. When they play badly we excuse them on the grounds they are re-building. It's a poor excuse. 12 months from now with the exception of one or two players we'll have a completely different team.
We're not rebuilding at all. Same as we really weren't acting in accordance with FFP. It's just a cover story to try and excuse any failings. We don't really have a clue what we're doing it. We're winging it and hoping it will come good. Maybe it will, but performances so far suggest it won't - regardless of how many people claim that performances have been decent or not that bad, when most have average to dire. People are claiming to see the big picture but they can't - because there isn't one. It just gives the self satisfied posters a bigger pedestal to climb on as they think it shows they have a better understanding of football or the situation in general. They don't - they are just looking at things from a different angle or claim they are. We are supposedly developing our own youth players and this is clearly the direction we are heading in according to some, yet we have loaned two players from Premiership clubs who are as young as our players yet less experienced, and we have brought these players to feature in preference to our own academy graduates. We have brought a midfielder in and loaned one of our own out. We got rid of a young striker and brought in an aged journey man. We signed a young player from Scotland to be a player to be developed and gave him a one year contract. Thankfully it turns out but this doesn't fit in with what we are supposedly doing. Mason Holgate has performed very well after being thrown in at the deep end. We won't see him again this season and will pick someone in his place who will most certainly leave next season. I do not see any form of consistency, no ideology and no big picture. In my humble opinion of course.
100% Bang on! It doesn't help we have a manager who for some reason can't see that the tactics he is trying to implement just isn't working.
with respect...could it be that danny is doing what hes told .....and trying to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear....
It's called a strata based sample. Changing managers has little or no impact on results in anything other than the short term.
Stick with him then and fall into the bargain basement league. My Opinion of course. Results are King. Keep losing and hope for the best. Its a valid strategy
