Morris can be a match decider in an instance but like others have said, he’s very injury prone. With the right style of play and tactics you have a very good striker on your hands. I’m convinced that if he could stay injury free he’d hit double figures. As for Woodrow, have very fond memories of when he first signed in league 1 and absolutely smashed it. Very loyal to the club and you can’t fault his goal return overall. Just seems to have fallen out of love with the game. It’s also interesting that his best seasons were with us and couldn’t seem to get going before he joined us. Hope he can rekindle some of that form for you guys as I do like him.
Who are these suitors willing to pay double for two strikers that scored 11 championship goals between them last season?
If you hadn't taken it out of context and ignored the bit where I specifically said it isn't true you might have had a point.
I should have resisted the urge to use the phrase "when the chips are down". Maybe put "when we'd ran out of pies." I doubt it would have had the same effect.
Stones and Holgate were at the start of their careers and clearly had Premier League talent. It's players like Scowen, Watkins, Fletcher, Winnall, Brian Howard, Nardiello, even Adam Hammill. They all got paid well for moving on but their football suffered. Woodrow might regret not taking this season to try to get back to his best, because right now his career has stalled.
Sometime the truth is so simple, but so painful to accept isn’t it? Maybe he can get himself out of whatever spiral he’s going down, some will be blaming managers and formations all the way to him playing in the conference South, but in the end either he’ll come good or he won’t and it’ll be on him.
I’d have liked to have kept Morris, think he would have down well for us. glad we got rid of Woodrow. Had a decent season in league one. Other than that he’s been poor. Can’t be many strikers in the whole football league whos had more shots blocked than Woodrow. He would shoot with a brick wall in front of him.
Apart from the fiasco with "Higgy/Hemmsy" this is one of the most ridiculous things I've read on here
Yes i think when a player has performed in the past like cauley did in league one or/and when fans have already made there mind up that he is good people are reluctant to give any form of criticism to the player. This is a big factor with woodrow some games in that last 18 months he minght aswell have come sat with me in ponty but lets focus on vic, plamer, schopp, poya etc instead.
Stones & Holgate do count though & as someone else mentioned Keiffer Moore is doing well plus Jacob Brown as well .
